Finding Inspiration
Our designers find inspiration in a variety of places, both online and offline. We've included a small sample of websites and other resources that have contributed to our artistic development, as well as websites that our clients have found particularly noteworthy from a design perspective. We hope that this will provide both an example of how we approach the artistic aspect of website design and a way for you to find inspiration and hone your own ideas.
The Blue Lotus
- We take our name and symbol from a flower long thought to embody the very essence of beauty in simplicity. In a variety of Eastern cultural contexts, the lotus is a sacred symbol, representing harmony and enlightenment.
CSS Zen Garden
- One website displayed in hundreds of styles. A technology demonstration and monument to the adaptability of the online medium. Also a great place to get
design ideas!
Print Advertisers
- Many of our designers come from a long line of "Ad Men". Take away the fancy trimmings, and a successful website - like a newspaper advert - is still all about well-worded, concise and compelling content.
The Best CSS Gallery
- Showcasing some of the best designed and implemented websites around, BCG accepts suggested sites and generates rankings based partly on a visitor voting system. Another terrific place to find your own ideas.
A List Apart
- A site dedicated to all facets of the web designer's art. Simply and elegantly laid out, A List Apart is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in understanding the industry.
Our Clients!
- Over the years, we've gotten to know dozens of very driven, hard-working people in a number of industries and from a variety of backgrounds. They are ultimately responsible for getting Blue Lotus Web Design where it is today, and that is an inspiration in itself. Thank you all!
If you have been impressed by the design of a particular website or other media, we'd love to hear about it. Drop us a line on our contact page or give us a call at 563-343-4711.
