The Blue Lotus Process
No two design projects are the same and if we tried to pigeon-hole every client into a rigid design process, we would not only disrespect the client but also produce bland, repetitive results. Indeed, some of our most creative work has come out of crazy, free-wheeling design sessions. Nevertheless, it helps our clients and designers to have a general idea of how a new website is designed and built at Blue Lotus Web Design. As with all things, your mileage may vary.
First Contact
- You get to know us and we get to know you. We collect preliminary information on what kind of project you're interested in and provide you with an initial cost estimate.
Detailed Assessment
- If the intial consultation seems promising, we'll generate a detailed structure for your site. Incorporating number of pages, special features and hosting preferences, this analysis
allows us to create a final cost estimate and timeframe for your project's completion.
Design Phase
- We will work with you to develop a comprehensive and unique visual style for your site. This is the stage when we finalize colors, borders, layout and other visual design considerations.
Programming Phase
- When you've checked off on a final design, we get to work coding your vision for presentation online. It is generally during this step of the process that we add your pre-written content
or work with you to develop it together.
Launch
- The Big Day! After any last-minute changes and a final review of your website, we upload everything onto a public server and check to see that everything is running properly. We'll
also sit down and go through the features with you one last time.
Post-Launch Follow-up
- What happens after a website launches is often just as important as what happened before. In the months following your Internet debut, our programmers will continue to monitor your
site's traffic, search engine rank and other factors and make adjustments as necessary.
If your have any questions about any of the steps above, our Project Manager would be happy to speak with you. You can reach us online or by calling 563-343-4711.
