Above all, provide a great value to the client - Our designers are constantly improving their skills in both design theory and Web implementation. This ensures that we are able to provide our clients with access to the most cutting-edge expertise available, comparable to what you might expect to find at a much larger firm. At the same time, by remaining faithful to our foundation as a small, independent studio, we are able to offer our services at a much more reasonable rate, one which allows us to cater to individuals and small businesses which might not otherwise be able to afford professional design services. We believe it’s the best of both worlds.
Maintain a single-minded focus on the client’s needs - This is what Blue Lotus Web Design is all about. We only take on a few clients at a time, so you know you have our undivided attention. You can be sure that your vision and your ideas are foremost in our minds and that we are working on your website without being distracted by overfilled project schedules.
Mutual education & understanding are a vital part of the design process - For many years, the design and maintenance of quality websites was the exclusive domain of a select few. With improvements in website generators and the rising popularity of content-management systems like Wordpress and Joomla, we feel there's no reason why everyone shouldn't understand how a dynamic, visually engaging website is built. By educating our clients - and learning from them - we are able to provide a foundation upon which to build a website that is uniquely yours.
Unique, custom websites will always stand out - Each of our websites is hand-written from the ground up. This means that you can rest easy knowing that your website is truly one of a kind. We work hand-in-hand with our clients, gathering your input at every stage of the design process to be sure that every element of the design contributes to the fulfillment of your vision.
As with a single lotus blossom, beauty arises from simplicity - With a dynamic, high-tech canvas like the Internet, many designers think that it’s necessary to bombard the visitor with flashing lights and fancy animation. While these elements certainly have their place in the overall presentation of a website, we believe that visual presentation should recede into the background, never overwhelming your visitors, but rather emphasizing the important content of your site.
Clean, minimalist code makes everything better - Many companies insist upon cramming as much code onto every single page of their websites, thinking this is the only way to achieve a look that is engaging. We know better. Not only can properly organized and executed code create the same effects with much less clutter, it can also decrease the file size of your site, meaning that more people can visit your site and they can see it faster.
Open source is important - The Internet was created as a way to freely share ideas. When companies like Microsoft and Apple create web content that can only be read by their own products, they go against what is best about the Internet. We support the efforts of Mozilla, Google and all the other open-source projects out there, who are making information - and the way we view it - accessible to all.
Web standards should be observed - In order for the Internet to continue to evolve to provide the best environment for the presentation of ideas and information, there must be clearly defined standards to which all designers should adhere. Far from limiting the creative options of website authors, a comprehensive set of rules will allow each website to operate more smoothly and contribute more easily to the harmony of the Internet as a whole.
