The days are getting shorter and colder and we’re all looking forward to that time of year when we gather together with friends and loved ones and reflect on all that we’ve seen and done this year. It’s a time for sharing and for giving. 07.01.08 - Iowa City - Coralville Flood of 2008

In mid-June, the Iowa City-Coralville area experienced the worst flood in memory, easily surpassing even the level of the Great Flood of 1993. Hundreds of people lost their homes, and hundreds of businesses were affected. Only now that rebuilding has begun have we been able to measure the damage. We at Blue Lotus Web Design wish to extend our deepest thanks to the firefighters, EMS personnel, police and other emergency crews who have given so much to their community in the past few weeks.

We are committed to helping as many area businesses get back up and running as possible, though we are limited by our own particular field of expertise. For the rest of the year, we extend the following offer: If your business was affected by flooding, we can provide all of our services at half our usual rates. A strong internet presence may not seem so important just now -- and in comparison to the way many of our lives have been changed, it's not! -- but in the coming months, as local men and women seek to rebuild stronger, more lasting businesses, we hope we can be of service.
